The Opportunity
A State Government Department is seeking a motivated and resilient Maintenance Support Officer to join their Maintenance Response Centre for the Far North Queensland Region on a temporary basis. This role plays a critical part in supporting maintenance service delivery through frontline call handling, accurate administration, and high-quality customer service.
Working in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment, you will manage incoming enquiries, process service requests, and ensure information is accurately recorded and actioned. About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Answering incoming calls and responding to maintenance-related enquiries
• Providing efficient, high-quality customer service to customers and stakeholders
• Accurately recording, updating, and maintaining information in relevant systems
• Compiling documentation and reports with a high level of accuracy
• Working within a KPI-driven environment with performance monitoring mechanisms
• Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation, de-escalation, and dispute resolution
• Ensuring records and information systems are kept up to date and accurate
• Effectively undertaking general administrative duties as required
• Supporting maintenance service delivery within the Maintenance Response Centre
About You
You are a proactive and organised administration professional who remains calm under pressure and delivers excellent customer service in fast-paced environments.
You will bring:
• Moderate experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (essential)
• Demonstrated experience in customer support or call centre environments
• Strong general office administration skills, including Outlook
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and think outside the square
• Ability to operate under pressure and manage stressful situations
• Capability to work independently with on-the-job training
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Maintenance or facilities knowledge (advantageous)
